Introducing our first release of 2026, and the second installment of our “VS” 45-series…

The “VS Series” takes 2 beatmakers and puts them on the same 45 for a beat battle on wax: head-to-head, side-for-side.

VS2: Daedelus VS Lightfoot pairs two beat-scene legends on the same 45. Both are innovators and masters of their respective styles and craft; they’re also both professors at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

On Side A, Daedelus takes you down a wormhole of trippy and ethereal granular manipulation with “Turkey Lurkey”: concluding in a shimmering, downtempo kaleidoscope of a beat. Then into an apt, distorted noise-banger with “Scrap”. With an aggressive downtempo vibe for track 2, it’s reminiscent of their work on their excellent “What Wands Won’t Break” LP.

On Side B, Lightfoot traverses a range of headnodding heat, oozing in his signature swing and bounce. He kicks his side off with “Pastiche”, where the hypnotic drums lend themselves to the meditative and other-worldly sample chops. Light closes out with Slush Factory. A head nodder brimming with swing and snare rolls that seemlessly travels across dimensions and soundscapes.

Limited to 250 copies. Pressed to black vinyl. Comes in a Filthy gradient label sleeve unique to this release, and a poly sleeve. This record plays at 45 rpm.
